The Board of Fire Commissioners for South Whidbey Fire/EMS approved a resolution to place a fire levy lid lift on the August 6, 2024, primary election ballot. The purpose of the lid lift is to hire emergency personnel to improve response times and replace fire engines and equipment that are aging out of service.
South Whidbey Fire/EMS is accepting names of people interested in participating on a “for” or “against” committee to provide a voter pamphlet statement. Residents interested in participating, please contact Nick Walsh at chief@swfe.org or 360-321-6061 by April 8, 2024.
